Policy for Junior handicaps for the 2013/2014 track season

Maximum handicap will be no more than 15% of Race distance

Example: 1000 mtrs max will be 150 mtrs

2000 mtrs max will be 300 mtrs

Except Under 13's this may be slightly more than the max for novice riders

Handicap penalties

For the smaller carnivals will be as follows:

10 Plus for a win

5 Plus for a second

For major carnivals from Latrobe through to Burnie Penalties will be as follows:

20 Plus for a win

10 Plus for second


New riders will be handicapped from the middle mark back then adjusted accordingly after the second carnival they compete in. Riders that have raced before will be handicapped accordingly to their ability, if you enter a race you are deemed to be ready and fit for those events.


Handicap alterations outside this policy is at the sole discretion of the handicapper where it is deemed necessary
